The 10th World Conference of Young Parliamentarians, organized by the Interparliamentary Union for Democracy for All, opened on Thursday, September 12, in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia.

This conference, attended by six National Deputies from the Parliament of the Democratic Republic of Congo led by Professor Isaac Jean Claude Tshilumbayi Musau, First Vice-President of the National Assembly, has the theme for 2024: “Avoiding Lost Generations: Preserving Education and Employment at All Times.” The aim is to prioritize youth education and employment in the context of a global crisis, seeking solutions to prevent lost generations and ensure continuous access to education and job opportunities for all young people.

Additionally, this 10th World Conference of the Interparliamentary Union, involving young people under 45 from various countries, is refining strategies to strengthen education and employment sectors. The First Vice-President of the National Assembly, who is leading the DRC delegation, is aware of the efforts by President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo to address critical issues related to basic education and youth employment, as he mentioned during the conference opening.

Several panels have presented forecasts based on their experiences, including a session on the countdown to 2030: “What Progress in Youth Education and Employment? Global Perspectives Provided by Representatives of International Organizations.”

Launched on Thursday, September 12, the conference will run until Saturday, September 14, and will conclude with a cultural visit to foster connections among different peoples.
